After escaping the destruction of the Le Domas family, Grace MacCaullay awakens in a hospital under suspicion for the night's carnage. Her estranged sister, Faith MacCaullay, arrives, forcing long buried resentment to the surface. Meanwhile, Chester Danforth and the leaders of several powerful families learn that Grace's survival has triggered a new contest for control of a secret council. Grace and Faith are drawn into a deadly game across a sprawling estate, where rival hunters pursue them under strict supernatural rules.
