Noticed that Crunchyroll's master for this has lifted blacks so everything has this gray haze to it. So I re-encoded the CR video with a colorlevels fix calibrated against Bilibili's mainland stream, which actually has true blacks.
Episode 1 from BiliBili also had ~44s of extra footage at the start of the episode that was non-existent in CR's version. So I spliced that back in but since BiliBili DL was super low bitrate comparatively I can't say quality is on par but it still looks good to me.
Ep 01 note: that restored bit only had Bilibili's MTL subs to work from but also only had three lines of dialogue, so you'd figure they nailed them right? Nope. They called the dude "Spicy." Fixed back to "Lazi." :-P
This is of course a re-encode (CRF 16) to fix the colorlevels so the files will be smaller but I think the tradeoff is warranted. I was going to just use BiliBili masters but at that low of bitrate; scenes were looking sketchy. So opted for re-encoding vs a bit-starved master.
