Plot

Baghdad, 2005. After Italian journalist Giuliana Sgrena is kidnapped by insurgents,

veteran SISMI negotiator Nicola Calipari is tasked with rescuing her, but interference

from US forces in Iraq compromises his mission.


Trama

Il Nibbio racconta i ventotto giorni precedenti i tragici eventi del 4 marzo del 2005,

quando Nicola Calipari, Alto Dirigente del SISMI, sacrificò la propria vita per salvare

quella della giornalista de “il manifesto” Giuliana Sgrena, rapita in Iraq da una cellula

terroristica. Calipari ha avuto un suo ruolo cruciale nelle operazioni in Iraq nei primi

anni Duemila per salvaguardare la vita umana e mantenere la pace. Il suo omicidio è ancora

irrisolto.
