"How I Proposed to My Wife: An Alien Sex Story" is an amusing Sci-Fi story of inter-species relations by a great Sci-Fi author, John Scalzi (Old Man's War and The Android's Dream). The story is very short but, for what it is, it didn't need to be any longer.


The story is told by Charlie, a junior writer for a magazine that gets assigned to do an "Alien Interest" story and has to "date" members of the alien races that have embassies on Earth (it is hinted that there are many of these). Unfortunately Charlie has a serious girlfriend, Claire, and really has no idea what aliens do on dates...


This was an entertaining "fish out of water" story that painted some very funny imagery but it does contain a scene that was more explicit than expected.
