Years in the making! It would be fair to say I have learned a lot about AV1 encoders working on this show. The best encoder of the moment would change so frequently I would have to restart all of my testing every so often. I want to thank the patient people on the server that followed the progress for all this time. I'm relieved it's out at last. Enjoy this masterpiece!
Encoding wise, Steins;Gate 0 was thoroughly zoned to increase grain synthesis in scenes where it is necessary (mostly flashbacks). Otherwise, it's pretty much a constant CQ19 level. For Steins;Gate (og series), I adjusted my auto-boost algorithm to better suit the show. It was allowed to go from CQ16 to CQ24. I manually tweaked some scenes and re-encoded others during my re-watch to match my quality standards.
