Variance Boost: Dune Part 2 (2024) was a very clean source. We achieved a very high level of video compression efficiency by raising the strength of variance boost. By boosting the high and low contrast superblocks, we created superior video quality without inflating the bitrate.

10GB AVC Equivalency: This encode is equivalent to a 10GB AVC (x264) encode. We used a motion enhanced version of Mode 2 on SVT-AV1 v2.1. It is within 3.8% of the best compression efficiency AV1 can offer in May 2024! Yes, we could have saved anther 164MB, but we choose to encode 4 more movies instead!

Multi-Language Support: We're not greedy. We used 800MB of the file size savings to add French and Spanish surround sound audio plus subtitles. We still saved everyone 4.2GB by using the latest AV1 and OPUS codecs!
