L'idea del film nasce da un ascolto casuale del Bolero di Ravel, che diede a Bozzetto l'immagine di una crescita continua e incontrollata.



Bozzetto desiderava dare una risposta con una diversa mentalità, sensibilità e gusto all'illustre precedente costituito da Fantasia. Questo film doveva costituire un superamento ironico del modello, qualcosa di più e di diverso, a partire dai contenuti: ecologia, consumismo, sessualità, politica...



Bozzetto wanted to give a response with a different mentality, sensitivity and taste to the illustrious precedent set by Fantasia. This film had to constitute an ironic overcoming of the model, something more and different, starting from the contents: ecology, consumerism, sexuality, politics...

In un teatro vuoto, un pomposo presentatore introduce un insolito spettacolo: mentre un direttore d'orchestra fa eseguire una serie di brani a un'improbabile orchestra improvvisata, formata da vecchiette in abiti Belle Époque prelevate da un ospizio, un disegnatore, tenuto incatenato per anni, ne realizza in tempo reale la versione animata.









Allegro non troppo is a 1976 Italian animated film directed by Bruno Bozzetto. Featuring six pieces of classical music, the film is a parody of Walt Disney's 1940 feature film, Fantasia, two of its segments being derived from the earlier film. The classical pieces are set to color animation, ranging from comedy to deep tragedy
