Description
Barbie, il film diretto da Greta Gerwig, ha inizio nel fantastico mondo di Barbieland, una sfavillante società matriarcale, dove la classica Barbie (Margot Robbie) e tutte le altre Barbie conducono una vita perfetta, piena di successi e soddisfazioni, ricoprendo le professioni più prestigiose come medici, avvocati e politici, mentre le loro controparti maschili, i Ken, si dedicano alle attività ricreative, soprattutto in spiaggia.
Tutto sembra andare per il meglio per la nostra protagonista finché un giorno, all'improvviso, nella sua mente germogliano pensieri "umani", come quello sulla mortalità. Da quel momento niente sarà più come prima. Da bambola perfetta, Barbie inizia a sviluppare imperfezioni che finiscono per farla sentire un'emarginata. Decide così di rivolgersi alla saggia Weird Barbie (Kate McKinnon), anche lei emarginata dalla società per i suoi difetti fisici, che le consiglia di andare alla scoperta del mondo reale, dove troverà la soluzione a tutti i suoi problemi.
Decisa a trovare "una cura" e a riconquistare la sua precedente perfezione, Barbie parte per un'emozionante avventura nel mondo reale, dove viene raggiunta inaspettatamente da Beach Ken (Ryan Gosling), che si era nascosto nella sua decappottabile.
