These Singles is quite a misleading title. If only for the reason that the raw-sounding opening songs Why are you running away (the first version of Kora's Blues) and I want to tell you something have never appeared on any of Maanamu's singles (they were recorded by Marek Jackowski and Kora in the studio of the Polish radio in Katowice in 1979, with the accompaniment of musicians from the Dżamble group, and Why Are You Running, had its record premiere after more than twenty years on Kora's compilation album, Magic Word Success). Then we come across the famous Hamlet - famous because it is the first real single of the band, released in 1979 by Tonpress, which specialized in this type of "controversial" ventures at the time. Side B of this CD featured Apart sung by Marek Jackowski, which unfortunately was missing on Singles from Simple Story for some reason! Pity. Then we have: This night is unlike any other (vocal version of the number Moja miłość is crazy) and Och ten Hollywood, released as a single in 1981, and recorded for the film Wielka Majówka by Krzysztof Rogulski.



The present Cicadas na cyclades also come from the same year (the ballad 1984 appeared on the second side of the single, for which unfortunately there was also no place in this set; interestingly, both the aforementioned Apart and i1984 can be found on the CD released by Intersonus in 1991 The Singles Collection), and then, a year later, the instrumental Espana Forever (it appeared for the first time on the album only eleven years later on the Ballady compilation), Naturally I love you my darling, ElektroSpiro vs. Zanzara, We are of steel , Twist, Collector and a newer version of Hamlet, recorded in 1997, Maanam's first single.
