D-Day - Too Young to Date
1979

De Lewellen was the main singer of D-Day, commonly playing punk songs in Texas in the late 1970s. Their first single was "Too Young to Date", but it was deemed too controversial for most radio stations to play. However, it did get airtime on KROQ in Los Angeles, and on various college stations.

However, a backlash soon formed and indeed the song was banned from most radio stations. They eventually did go into the studio to record an edited version, but it was never released. The band moved to LA, but soon frequent changes caused the band to break up in 1984.

Bob Chinn's Candy Stripers is considered on of the true golden age classics and, when watching it, it's easy to see why. This film is an example of how great classic porn can be. To begin with, the sets are incredible. Although the film is often believed to have been filmed in a hospital, it was actually filmed on a sound stage. This is how good the sets are. I hate to rant like this, but so often in the adult world, poor substitutes for real sets are used that can ruin the mood created in a scene and it's refreshing to see a film where this isn't the case.

This movie comes from the tail end of the 'golden era' of the xxx genre. Several veterans of the industry appear in this film in their prime. While it may not be the best plot, the fact remains that it actually actually tries, and it deserves points for that! Special praise goes to Ron Jeremy in this film. He displays the best acting skills of the group, good enough to actually go mainstream. He is the main character in this movie and his exploits are both theatrical and hilarious! The actual candy strippers display terrible acting. Yet, I'll go as far as saying that it actually adds to this movie. Why? Because the cheese-factor is definitely an element of movies from the era. People used to today's movies of the genre may be disappointed because it doesn't jump right into the action. Time is taken to develop the plot. Real fans will appreciate the character development, making the numerous action scenes that much more enjoyable. This is almost as good as some of the b-movies of the same era. It's humorous, cheesy, and action-packed! It's a classic!
