Every Breath You Take - Senza Respiro, il film diretto da Vaughn Stein, racconta la storia di uno psichiatra, il dottor Philip Clark (Casey Affleck), che vede la sua vita e la sua carriera gettati nel caos, dopo il suicidio di una paziente. La donna si è tolta la vita dopo che la sua migliore amica è morta in un incidente stradale e l'ultima chiamata fatta, prima di compiere il tragico gesto, è stata proprio al dottore, che non è riuscito a fermarla in tempo.

Quando il fratello della defunta, James (Sam Claflin), bussa alla porta del dottore, questi lo invita in casa, dove l'uomo fa la conoscenza anche della moglie (Michelle Monaghan) e della figlia (India Eisley) del dottore.

James incolpa lo psichiatra della morte della sorella ed è determinato a rovinare la sua vita e di tutte le persone a lui care. Facendo prima amicizia con la giovane figlia di Philip e corteggiando in seguito sua moglie, James si tramuta in una sorta di stalker, pronto a commettere qualsiasi atto pur di veder distrutta la famiglia Clark, proprio come lo è la sua dopo la morte della sorella.
