The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Riddick, film diretto da David Twohy, è il terzo capitolo della saga su Richard B. Riddick, un criminale spaziale di origine "furiana", un tipo di etnia dotata di grandi abilità, superiore di gran lunga a quelle umane.

Dopo essere stato tradito dalla sua stessa specie e spacciato per morto dai suoi nemici, Riddick (Vin Diesel) è stato lasciato gravemente ferito su un pianeta deserto, popolato da temibili predatori alieni. L'unica via di uscita per lui è raggiungere un faro per poter inviare un segnale d'emergenza e contattare le navicelle dei mercenari, trasmettendo la sua identità e la sua presenza sul pianeta, così da mettersi in salvo. Non è rimasto molto tempo, una tempesta all'orizzonte sta per sopraggiungere, pronta a scatenarsi e Riddick deve abbandonare il pianeta prima che accada.

Giungono sul posto due navicelle, una piena di cacciatori di taglie, guidati dal feroce Santana (Jordi Mollà), e l'altra guidata da mercenari professionisti, capitanati da un uomo di nome Boss Johns (Matt Nable). Riddick invia al loro arrivo un messaggio: o gli lasciano una delle navi o li ucciderà tutti. Durante la notte Riddick fa fuori alcuni uomini della prima nave, così Santana si vede obbligato a collaborare con Johns. Quando il furiano ruba le batterie di entrambe le navi, i due capitani sono costretti a negoziare con il loro nemico. Riddick propone uno scambio, una delle navi in cambio della batteria dell'altra, ma la trattativa si rivela essere un agguato e così si ritrova assalito e sedato.

Incarcerato di fronte a Johns e Santana con una tempesta alle porte, Riddick riuscirà questa volta a sopravvivere?
