War Documentary with no narration published by Avion Park in 1998 - English language

Experience World War Two aerial combat the way fighter pilots saw it -- through the gun sight! This production is loaded with historic footage: in it, you'll witness the terror of the air war during World War II exactly as it was fought in Europe and the Pacific, all seen from the unique vantage point of the cockpit.

This unique video gathers together--for the first time on one programme--all the very best uncensored gun camera footage from Allied and Axis film archives. A special presentation in our series "No Easy Days, Gun Camera Footage of WWII" shows it the way it happened -- with U.S. bombers under relentless attack by Nazi fighters and American P-51s, P-47s, P-38s and P-40s as they charge into battle. Watch air-to-air pursuits all the way into the ground with dozens of aerial shootdowns, many in breathtaking detail. Then strafe factories, trains and ammo dumps right into the heart of Germany and Japan. It's all here, in this special collector's edition of digitally mastered "Gun Camera Footage of WWII".

Share a unique fighter pilot's point of view as Luftwaffe Me109s and Fw190s tear into a formation of B-17 Flying Fortresses, decimating them with concentrated machine gun and cannon fire. Then see the battle from the perspective of the American gunners, pouring concentrated fire back into the swarms of fighters.

Join a formation of P-40 Warhawks as they 'bounce' a flight of Ju52 Transports and their fighter escorts over the Mediterranean and watch through the gun sight as they chase them all the way back to their landing field and strafe the surviving aircraft.

See P-51 Mustangs dogfighting German interceptors in defence of USAAF bomber formations, and Allied fighters launching ground attack strikes with machine guns, cannon and rockets against enemy troop convoys, ammo dumps, railway yards and shipping in North Africa and occupied Europe.

Finally, you'll witness dogfights with Zeros over the Pacific, and rare colour gun camera film of attacks against Japanese shipping, airfields and troop transports.

Raw, brutal, swift and deadly, this was what the war in the air was actually like for those who fought it. Here is the first television production dedicated to the incredible air battles of Europe and the Pacific, seen through the shoot-to-kill gunsights of American and Nazi fighters. Watch carefully, and remember always the brave men and women that were there and gave so much.
