01 The Purge 2013.

In the not-too-distant future, rampant crime and prison overcrowding have inspired

the U.S. government to implement a unique solution to restore the peace: Each year,

for a 12-hour period, any and all crime becomes permissible as police put their

jobs on hold, and hospitals close their doors. It's called the Purge, and

remarkably, the annual event leads to drastically reduced crime and record-low

unemployment levels throughout the rest of the year. But this year, as suburban

parents James (Ethan Hawke) and Mary (Lena Headey) place their home on lock-down

for the annual event, a desperate man finds his way into their neighborhood while

fleeing a sadistic gang of masked killers. In a moment of compassion, James and

Mary's adolescent son (Max Burkholder) unlocks the door, offering sanctuary to the

frightened stranger. Unfortunately for the entire family, that act of kindness may

also be their very last, because now the killers who were pursuing the man have

surrounded the house, and have vowed to kill everyone inside unless they are

willingly given the man they are hunting within an hour. As the clock begins to

tick, the family face a difficult dilemma -- do they sacrifice the life of a

stranger in hopes of saving themselves, or attempt to stand their ground until

the Purge expires?.

02 The Purge 2 Anarchy 2014.

As the countdown to the Purge starts ticking, struggling waitress Eva (Carmen Ejogo)

risks her safety by staying late at work to ask her boss for a raise. Later, as she

returns home to her elderly father (John Beasley) and daughter Cali (Zoë Soul),

bickering couple Shane (Zach Gilford) and Liz (Kiele Sanchez) attempt to make their

way out of the city, following a frightening run-in with a gang of masked, machete

wielding thugs. While these four people are eager to seek sanctuary from the

impending wave of violence about to flood the streets, a lone stranger (Frank Grillo)

intent on seeking vengeance for the wrongful death of his son plans to draw blood

from the man responsible. Armed to the teeth as he cruises the city in a modified

muscle car, he gets sidetracked from his mission when he sees Eva and Cali fighting

for their lives against a small army of black-clad soldiers. Against his better

judgment, he rescues the pair, only realizing later that Shane and Liz also jumped

into his backseat in order to escape a gang that disabled their car and were

hunting them through the streets. When the stranger's car is similarly damaged

beyond the point of repair, this unlikely group must stick together in order to

survive the night. But little do they realize that their nightmare has only just

begun..

03 The Purge 3 Election Year 2016.

A young Charlene "Charlie" Roan and her family are tied up by a masked purger. He

taunts them with his "purge playlist", and then tells them they will play a final

purge game called "Mommy's Choice." He then proceeds to kill the rest of Charlie's

family and leaves her as the only survivor of her family. Eighteen years later,

Roan is a U.S. Senator campaigning for the U.S. Presidency, promising to end the

annual purge nights. Former police sergeant Leo Barnes is now head of security for

Roan. The New Founding Fathers of America's (NFFA) leader, Caleb Warrens and their

candidate, Minister Edwidge Owens, view Roan as a threat; in the guise of regaining

the public's trust, revoke immunity for rank 10 or higher government officials to

kill her on Purge night..

04 The First Purge 2018.

A crazed drug addict named Skeletor talks on camera about his dark thoughts,

including his desire to "purge" and unleash his hatred on other people. An unknown

voice on the other end of the camera tells Skeletor that he will soon be able to.

Sometime in the 21st century, turmoil has caused the government to be overthrown by

the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA). NFFA members Arlo Sabian and Dr. May

Updale announce an experiment to take place on Staten Island where for 12 hours,

citizens will be allowed to purge and release their inhibitions in any way they

choose. The NFFA offers residents of the Island $5000 to stay in their homes during

the experiment and a compensation for those participating as well. They also outfit

the participants with tracking devices and contact lenses with cameras in them so

that they can monitor all activity. Drug lord Dmitri tells his dealers that they

will be leaving but drug dealer Capital A wants to stay and purge. Another young

drug dealer, Isaiah, gets into a fight with Skeletor and gets his neck cut. Isaiah

goes to his sister Nya, an anti-Purge activist and Dimitri's ex-girlfriend, for

treatment, and Nya later confronts Dmitri as she believes that Dmitri is Isaiah's

drug lord, which he denies.
