Appleseed

 (From [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appleseed_(1988_film))): Appleseed (アップルシード) is a Japanese cyberpunk-style OVA adaptation of the manga of the same name created by Masamune Shirow. The anime takes place in a non-determined future. The anime, produced by Gainax, departs greatly from the manga's storyline, sharing only the characters and setting.  This is a remux of the 2021 US Blu-ray by Discotek. Included with this Blu-ray is a brand new scan of a 35mm print, which is the first time this OVA has ever been presented in HD. Also included is the original English dub by Manga Entertainment, along with a few sparse bonus features (mainly the live-action music video and some trailers).  While this Blu-ray is not nearly as high effort compared to the monster that is the Project A-ko disc, Discotek's penchant for quality is still on display here with the new HD scan of the film print. While it seems that the subtitles are taken from an earlier release, they have been edited to be more accurate, at least in terms of how the main character's names are spelled. All in all, this is a much simpler release that still delivers the highest quality version of this OVA out there.  Given this is a remux, no extra encoding was performed to preserve the disc's quality. The video is the original H.264 encoded present on the original disc, and is a 1080p video with a pillarboxed 4:3 picture. Included is both the original Japanese and English dub tracks in 2.0 stereo PCM, along with an extra 5.1 surround track encoded in DTS-HD. The bonus features include PCM and AC-3 audio. The subtitles are also directly ripped from the disc.
