В день празднования своего столетия юбиляр вылезает через окно дома престарелых на газон и уходит. Уходит не куда-то, а от чего-то. От бессмысленного доживания в богадельне. В первый же час он ухитряется поссориться с бандитами и уехать в неизвестном направлении. Вскоре становится понятно, что все сто лет его жизни - сплошные приключения. Он, вроде бы, всегда плывет по течению, но почему-то всегда приплывает к любимым занятиям - застольям и разного рода взрывам. Перезнакомившись, при разных юмористических обстоятельствах, с большинством сильных своего времени - Франко, Труменом, Сталиным - и изрядно повлияв на историю двадцатого века, он остается самим собой.
