01 Mission Impossible 1996.

This movie, based on the television series, finds Jim Phelps (Jon Voight) and his

team charged with stopping a traitor from stealing and selling classified material.

Everything was going well until the man they are following and all of the team are

inexplicably killed except for Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Ethan then calls Director

Kittridge (Henry Czerny) and goes to meet him when he discovers that the whole

mission was to ferret a mole that they have been suspicious of for some time.

Kittridge shows evidence that hints that Ethan's the one for whom they have been

looking, but Ethan knows that he is not, so he escapes. Ethan then arranges to meet

the buyer, whom he warns against using the material he has, and when they meet, he

offers to get what he paid for in exchange for telling who the mole is. Ethan,

along with Phelps' wife Claire (Emmanuelle Béart) recruits two disavowed Agents,

Franz Krieger (Jean Reno) and Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), to help him, which

won't be easy, it'll be nearly impossible.

02 Mission Impossible II 2000.

Pulled away from his vacation, I.M.F. Agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is given his

latest assignment, where he is assigned to recruit Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton), a

beautiful thief, and require her skills. After recruiting Nyah, Ethan's boss,

Mission Commander Swanbeck (Sir Anthony Hopkins) gives Ethan the assignment.

Renegade I.M.F. Agent Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) has killed an old friend of

Ethan's, Russian scientist Dr. Nekhorvich (Rade Serbedzija), and has stolen

"Chimera", an engineered virus, and "Bellerophon", the cure, which Dr. Nekhorvich

created and was carrying to Atlanta, Georgia, while accompanied by Sean, who was

disguised as Ethan. Ethan learns Nyah was Sean's former lover and has been

recruited to help Ethan track down Sean. After tracking down Sean, Ethan, Nyah, old

friend and fellow I.M.F. Agent, computer expert Luthor Stickell (Ving Rhames) and

Australian helicopter pilot Billy Biard (John Polson) arrive in Sydney, Australia.

Where Ethan's mission is to destroy the "Chimera" virus and recover the

"Bellerophon" cure, and stop Sean and a group of international terrorists from

unleashing the "Chimera" virus and infecting the whole world, and save Nyah, who

has been infected and find the cure, before she dies a terrible death.

03 Mission Impossible III 2006.

The superior IMF agent Ethan Hunt is back. While contemplating living a quiet life

with his wife-to-be, Julia, IMF has called him in to rescue his former student,

Lindsey Farris, from the powerful arms dealer, Owen Davian. But Farris was killed

in this mission. After Marrying Julia, Ethan and his team of IMF agents head toward

Vatican City to capture Davian and interrogate him about the most powerful nuclear

device ever created, the Rabbit's Foot. After Davian escapes, he somehow captured

Julia, now Hunt must travel to Shanghai to recover the Rabbit's Foot and save

Julia, and as always Hunt must "expect the impossible".

04 Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol 2011.

Ethan Hunt is broken out of a Russian prison by IMF team members and begins his

search for an international terrorist who has successfully stolen Russian arming

codes for their nuclear missiles. They must first identify him and the only way to

do so is to break into the Kremlin archives. The end result is that much of the

Kremlin is destroyed and now Russian agents are after the IMF. They track the

thief, now identified as Kurt Hendricks, to Dubai where an attempt to con him out

of the codes fail. They then follow him to Mumbai where it's believed he will

transmit the signals to launch the Russian missiles at the USA.

05 Mission Impossible Rogue Nation 2015.

IMF agent Ethan Hunt is looking for a group of rogue agents known as the Syndicate.

When Ethan foils one of their operations, they capture him. Ethan escapes because

one of them, a woman, helped him. Ethan then contacts Brandt but Brandt tells him

that IMF has been shut down. So Ethan goes out and tries to find them on his own.

Months later Brandt and Benji are working at the CIA under the man who shut down

IMF, Hunley. Benji gets a trip to Vienna and when he goes he meets Ethan. They

attend an opera wherein the Chancellor attends. Ethan sees that someone is about to

shoot the Chancellor but he stops him but he sees the woman who helped him there

too and with a gun too but she helps Ethan. The Chancellor is evacuated but when he

gets in his car it explodes. The woman who says her name is Ilsa tells Ethan who

the leader of the syndicate is and Ethan lets her go. Ethan then goes to try and

find him. Hunley upon learning if what happened in Vienna and thinking Ethan is

involved tells Brandt to get him.

06 Mission Impossible Fallout IMAX 2018.

Two years after Ethan Hunt had successfully captured Solomon Lane, the remnants of

the Syndicate have reformed into another organization called the Apostles. Under

the leadership of a mysterious fundamentalist known only as John Lark, the

organization is planning on acquiring three plutonium cores. Ethan and his team are

sent to Berlin to intercept them, but the mission fails when Ethan saves Luther and

the Apostles escape with the plutonium. With CIA agent August Walker joining the

team, Ethan and his allies must now find the plutonium cores before it's too late.
