Nel 1913 il mercantile "Demeter" (proveniente da Varna) si schianta contro le scogliere dello Yorkshire, in Inghilterra. Il conte Dracula, nuovo proprietario di un castello della zona, viene ospitato dal direttore di un manicomio locale. Il conte, con il suo fascino magnetico, attira a se Mina Van Helsing, a sua volta ospite del direttore dell'istituto.
