Media Information
There have been many 4k releases of old movies (Particularly this one) from the studios of late that have had excessive amounts of grain or even digital dither. This has caused issues with my trying to encode as the available filters have all failed to clear up enough without terrible artifacts. Another issue would be that the 4K release just looks worse than the 1080p release and they just hide it with dither. I have built my skills over the year and have had a breakthrough with filters that while excessively slow cleans up the image to near current standards. I won’t be creating a new tag to label these with or anything, I just wanted to share some behind the scenes efforts.
