Description
WinHex is a universal editor in hexadecimal system, especially useful for computer forensics, data recovery, low-level data processing and information technology security. It is an advanced tool for everyday and emergency use that studies and edits all kinds of files, recovers destroyed files or lost data from hard drives with damaged file systems or from digital memory cards.
The program enables physical and logical editing of disks in FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, and CDFS formats. Under Windows NT you can even edit the contents of virtual process memory. In addition, the program allows you to delete and wipe files from disks without the ability to restore them, cancel and backup any changes made, encrypt data, "clone" sectors, and generate random numbers
