Full of sex, savagely inappropriate wit, shame and sadness, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s original one-woman version of Fleabag – which she is performing here for the last time, for 30 performances only - remains a potent piece of work.

It’s a bespoke vehicle for her sharp comic timing and physical wit as well as a nuanced piece of writing, and she plays the audience like a ukulele.

I feared that after two TV series and the mania over PWB’s involvement in Killing Eve and the next Bond movie we might have hit Fleabag fatigue.

But no. This is the distilled essence of the phenomenon.

Of course it’s sold out. But if you can get hold of one of the lottery-allocated standing tickets, or catch the NT live screening on Sept 12, it’s absolutely worth it.

Most of the plot points from the first TV series came from this 70-minute show (so there’s no hot priest, sorry).

Fleabag’s mother and her best friend are dead; her father and sister are emotionally distant and her brother-in-law is a sleaze.

She spends her days running a guinea-pig themed café into the ground, and her nights surfing porn or indulging in drunk, no-strings sex for validation.
