Description
El cónsul sueco (Dussollier) debe entrevistarse en el hotel Meurice con Dietrich von Choltitz (Arestrup), el gobernador militar alemán de París, miembro de un linaje de militares prusianos muy disciplinados. La misión del cónsul consiste en convencer al general para que no ejecute la orden de activar los explosivos que harían volar los principales monumentos de la capital francesa: el Louvre, Notre-Dame, la Torre Eiffel, etc. Se trata de impedir que arda París, como ha ordenado Hitler.
