Col suo modo di fare la fanciulla si guadagna subito la fiducia della ricca signora che, essendo in procinto di partire per New York, le propone di rimanere nella sua villa, in qualità appunto di persona di fiducia, durante la sua assenza, che durerà alcune settimane.
