Piekielnie zdolna, choć niepewna siebie Ally (Lady Gaga) przypadkiem spotyka w barze gwiazdora country (Bradley Cooper). Mimo różnic zak.o.c.h.u.j.ą się w sobie i postanawiają wyruszyć we wspólną trasę. Dla niej to uczucie stanie się inspiracją do artystycznej pracy, a także katapultą do wielkiej kariery. Dla niego - być może początkiem końca. Na pierwszy rzut oka Narodziny gwiazdy opowiadają znaną z kina i literatury historię "od zera do bohatera". Jednak debiutujący jako reżyser Cooper zabarwił ją własnymi doświadczeniami i obserwacjami. W roli tytułowej obsadził zaś artystkę, która jak mało kto wie, jak to jest w ciągu zaledwie kilku miesięcy zyskać status supergwiazdy. Dzięki temu film ogląda się jak przejmujący dokument, daleki od sztampowych rozwiązań i łatwych odpowiedzi. Gaga w roli tytułowej błyszczy, jest najprawdziwszym odkryciem, ale ta historia to też niesamowite tour de force Coopera. Nikt się chyba nie spodziewał, że znany z Kac Vegas aktor jest w stanie wykrzesać z siebie taką energię i przekonująco pokazać ból i tęsknotę. (OPIS dystrybutora)
