Da quando Batman ha fatto la sua comparsa, Gotham City sembra essere un posto migliore, con la malavita terrorizzata, ma anche con vigilantes improvvisati che imitano l'Uomo Pipistrello, il quale disapprova tale operato e fa capire di non poter dividere la sua missione con nessuno. Wayne appoggia Dent come uomo pubblico, e come Batman collabora con lui e Gordon per portare di fronte alla giustizia il crimine organizzato
