Trama
A Pottersville è inverno e Maynard, proprietario di un negozio che non naviga in buone acque, non vive un periodo facile. Durante una passeggiata ubriaco in tarda serata, Maynard viene scambiato per il leggendario Bigfoot, portando in breve in zona mass media, curiosi e, soprattutto, soldi. Quando poi il cacciatore di mostri di un programma televisivo si unisce per le indagini allo sceriffo locale, Maynard farà di tutto per proteggere la rinascita economica della sua cittadina.
